When it comes dirty concrete that has several months, years or perhaps even decades worth of mold and/or algae imbedded in it, not only does it look bad, but it can also pose a very real safety hazard in that, when it becomes wet, it can become slippery and potentially cause a slip and fall accident to take place. Pressure washing or surface cleaning alone simply will not produce a good result, and any result that would be realized won’t last for very long. Utilizing an improper cleaning process also has the potential to leave behind what is known in the pressure washing industry as "tiger striping".
At WASHERWORX we use a four step process beginning with pre-treating the dirty concrete surface with an algaecide and allowing it to have adequate time to dwell so that it penetrates deep down into the pours of the concrete, resulting in the darkened concrete becoming lighter in appearance. After the algaecide has had an adequate amount of time to dwell, then the surface cleaning process begins. Upon finishing up with surface cleaning, the concrete receives a thorough Ball Valve rinsing to ensure that all the dirty water is removed from the concrete surface and that it is clean. It’s at this point that we post-treat the concrete with algaecide and leave it to penetrate deep down into the pours of the concrete and dry on its own, which further serves to ensure that all the mold and/or algae completely dissolves.
The final result is a cleaner and safer concrete surface as well as a vast improvement in the curb appeal of the recently cleaned property.
